PRACTICE POLICIES
CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT
All information shared during a therapy session is completely confidential except in certain circumstances governed by the ethical and legal laws in the State of Utah including the mandatory reporting of threat of harm to self or others, including but not limited to abuse of a child, handicapped person, or elderly abuse.

When a client is seeing more than one practitioner in our office, we will periodically discuss information pertinent to client treatment and progress. If outside consultation is sought (a rare occurrence), no identifying information will be shared with other practitioners.

NO SHOW AND CANCELLATION
All appointments must be cancelled with at least 24 hours notice. If you miss a scheduled session without canceling 24 hours prior to the appointment, you will be charged a $50 fee since the appointment is blocked specifically for you. This payment must be paid before the following appointment.

PAYMENT
Payment is expected at the time of service. Emotional Healing offers multiple programs, which vary somewhat in cost. Payments may be made at specified intervals (ie. Monthly) or all at once. Your program will specify what your payment plan is, and you will be able to pay online or in person. You will be able to print off a receipt which you may use to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Emotional Healing staff will not be billing insurance companies. Most programs at Emotional Healing include services by other practitioners, and this is accounted for in program cost. If you are participating in such a program, your program costs will include any fees associated with other practitioners, and will be taken care of for you.

REFUNDS
Emotional Healing does not give refunds for services rendered.

INFORMATION PRIVACY
We value your privacy. Emotional Healing recently began utilizing a HIPPA compliant electronic records system. Communication that goes through your secure client portal is HIPPA compliant. Your credit card information will only be used to bill you for services you have agreed to. Your information will not be shared without your consent (see "release of information" form). If you have any questions about billing or use of your information, please do not hesitate to ask.

CRISIS NEEDS
As you go through the therapy process, you will likely experience discomfort. Because we are addressing challenging topics, this is not uncommon or unexpected. The therapist is there to help you through this process. Please let us know if you are experiencing overwhelming emotions. While we are NOT a crisis center we will do our best to make sure you receive the support we can give as we are available in office hours. Outside of office hours or when you are unable to reach your provider, please utilize the emergency room for emergencies, and/or the suicide hotline at 1-800-273-8255. If you have attempted suicide in the past six months you will be required to sign a safety contract and update it periodically.

Therapy v. coaching/education
Clients may choose to enter a therapy program or a coaching/educational program. Clients will continue on the program path they start out on – once you have entered a coaching relationship you will be referred to an outside therapist if you have need for therapy services. If you are a therapy client and are seeking coaching you will be referred to another individual for coaching services.
IF you are in a coaching/educational program, you should not consider it a therapy program – please let us know if you are interested in receiving therapy services, and we will give you contact information for other professionals.

Painful emotions
In either program, there may be times where information is given that triggers painful emotions. While we do our best to create an atmosphere of growth and wellness, these things can still come up and be unpleasant when they do. If you are in extreme distress, please seek crisis services mentioned above. Please also speak with us and let us know how we can help, if something can be resolved in a manner appropriate to the type of relationship you have with us (therapy or coaching).
